One of my all time favorite movies Jim, ty for that.
The whole college thing for me is all about being well rounded and just having more knowledge. The only drive to get my degree was that I was getting something that was not really easy to get. It gives you respect and it gives you a lot more credibility.
Do I think it is needed to make a living? Of course not. I do not believe I will ever use a degree in that way.
It is all about the accomplishment and the knowledge. I just like to know things...
Then again - I think I have learned more from reading and doing things on my own than I have learned in college. Still - there was a lot to learn in college as well.
Networking of course is huge like everyone else has been saying.
If you need Casino Reviews, I probably have the one(s) you're looking for.
You certainly don't need a degree to make a success of yourself in this world.
I dropped out of university in my second year and haven't looked back. My friends who earned their degrees are pretty jealous of my lifestyle, and constantly tell me that they wish they had gone in my direction.
That being said, the time that I did spend at university was immeasurably valuable. There is no way that I could have become an entrepreneur straight out of high school - I needed a few years on my own to really figure out what I wanted to do.
Not only that, but I gained a ton of contacts that still are valuable to me today. My best friends today are the people that I met at university - my high school friends have faded away into the distance.
I really can't say that my time at university was a waste, even though I didn't really accomplish much. If I hadn't gone, then I may never have realized that I wanted to be in business for myself. Plus, I would have missed out on tons of really fun experiences.
I don't really look at anything as a waste - I consider everything a part of the journey.
You miss 100% of the shots your don't take. I'd rather try to take the quicker route to the top and fail than sit at my desk job wondering if I could have succeeded. By shortcut I meant the route that takes less time. For example if you want to make 1 million dollars within 8 years, you are more likely to make it being an entrepreneur than you are starting out at an entry level position at Dunder Mifflin and trying to work your way to the top. I wasn't trying to say it would be easier, if anything it's harder and riskier being an entrepreneur.
