    Default Calling out CakePoker.com

    CakePoker.com Problems

First off I want to say that I really hate having to make this post, but given the recent history of Cakepoker.com (the company, not the staff) I think it has come to this. I have nothing but respect for the people who manage Cakepoker.com, but the higher ups are seriously going in the wrong direction.

I'm going to go down the list in order, so bare with me.

The Cake Poker and Cardspike Scandal

We all know that Cardspike joined the CakePoker.com network with the Cake folks knowing full well it would be owned and operated by people in the United States.

Cardspike.com as you know stole a ton of money over a 5-6 month period from many affiliates and players. I'm not going to list proof, but if I need to I will. I think we all know the history.

I know that within the first full month of Cardspike's existence Cakepoker.com was made aware of the huge tracking issues, and over the following months Cake was shown proof of the theft of money form players and affiliates as well as tons of player to affiliate tracking issues.

With all the complaints and evidence Cakepoker did nothing and to this day they still allow Cardspike to remain on their network even though affiliates are still owed thousands. Make no mistake, this is not simple indifference or laziness, Cake benefited from all this, and still does. I could go on about this, but I think you get the drift.

    Cake Tracking Issues

Over the couple years I've promoted Cakepoker, I would get random emails asking me to verify a player was getting their rakeback, or an email asking why they did not get their deposit bonus. Being a new affiliate I figured this was common, but now I know its not. Cake Poker knows they have serious tracking issues, and has no motivation to fix it. Of course, when emailed about a player, they add them to your report. But how many do we all miss?

There is a number of threads about this on the PAL forum and other forums. So its not just me, and I'm sure some affiliate accounts are tracker better than others.

    More Tracking Issues? Or Repercussions?

Around the time of the Cardspike issues, when I was bitching at PAP and Cake Daily, I was right where I wanted to be in terms of SERP position for terms like Cake Poker Rakeback, etc. I was seeing good signups every month. When I started putting pressure on Cake, and had some heated email exchanges with people, where I was being told to be quiet and back-off I noticed the next month my SU's decreased drastically. I even emailed cake at one point and asked what was up? A few days later I got a response form a person whom I had had a few heated discussion with say "I don't see an issue" - but I did manage to get a signup the next day.. Then nothing again for a while.

I assumed I must have a bad tracker, typo or something. So I made sure everything was correct, kept a close eye on my SERP position which remained the same, but still my SU's went to nothing! <<<< I wondered how that could be? Double checked everything and its right, but still nothing. I even had no signups for January which is LOL <----

Anyway, good lesson there I guess.

Not bothering to respond to emails

The straw that broke the camel's back is not even responding to my emails now. I got an email from a forum member the other day asking about his rakeback. I had personally walked him through signing up, but he isn't on my reports, but hmmmm he is getting rakeback just not tracked to me.. That seemed odd, so I contacted a few other people, did some testing ( test signups from other computers around the country) which I have proof of, and guess what? People going through my trackers are getting Rakeback and deposits, but are not tracked to me? How clever is that?

So, I'm calling out Cake Poker, it is time you started running your company the right way. I have faith that this is not a grand conspiracy, but maybe a few bad apples in the cart. So, do everyone a favor and conduct an audit, let everyone see, etc.

Definately some interesting points about tracking at Cake pointed out here, and have been pointed out now for the 18 months I've been around many times. I know I caught some early on when testing out PAW and then never really bothered to promote them after that because it was a telling sign to me. Hopefully the tracking can get fixed.

I've been seeing tons of clicks on my banners but absolutely fuck all for signups. At the moment I have 1 RMP that successfully tracked to my account. I know full well there should be more. I'm just about done dealing with Cake. I think my energy can be better spent promoting a different brand. -_-

I've pretty much taken them off my site now - whether it's poor conversions or issues with tracking, I've sent them quite a few clicks over the last few months and got nothing to show for it.

I have always had TERRIBLE conversions at Cake. But I've heard so many affiliates say great things about them in the past, I have given them lots of time. IMO, there are far better options to promote on the Cake Network that Cake itself.

For 3 weeks I had banners with PowerPoker (cake). They say I dont even have 1 signup.
Thats something new for me after 4 years of promoting poker.

I don't promote direct rakeback but I've always had bad conversions at cake. I would get new rmp's and good deposits every month, but make like $30. wtf?

I now promote their skins (doyles, sportsbook.com, playersonly) and do a lot better. Cake Poker really needs to change things. It is silly that it is better for affiliates to promote cake poker skins rather than cake poker.

Cake Poker has a $500 minimum and a $50 fee for check withdraws
DoylesRoom has a $50 minimum and a $10 fee for check withdraws
Sportsbook/PlayersOnly has a $150 minimum and a $10 check fee (they also have free affiliate speedpay /w min. $100)

    Cake Poker has tracking issues.
DoylesRoom has a casino in addition to poker.
Sportsbook/PlayersOnly have a sportsbook in addition to poker

Which one do you think I'm going to promote? I see all cons and no pros for promoting cake poker.
