Peel Away Success??

I'm looking for a way to make better use of my traffic. Has anyone had any clear boosts in conversions using peel aways?

I'm open to ANY ideas that might be able to grab a casual, non-targeted visitors attention and show them a reason why they NEED to sign up at X poker room.

Experience with peel aways, or any other clever ideas are wanted!

I was considering adding this to 3 of my sites in a network, I'm pretty sure I'll add it to the casino one as it seems to fit better but I'm basically wondering the same thing as you are.

Do they work? I'm seeing them as a bit tacky personally, but I could see them helping with traffic that isn't coming in on a convertable term - like strategy.

They are OK but dont use them use auto open function; annoying for users.

This looks like a cool alternative: jQuery pageSlide by Scott Robbin

Could put a <-- arrow image at the top right of your page that will initiate the slide when you click on it. Not used this and no idea how well they convert sorry.

I have seen much higher CTR's with the peel down versus 468x60 banners. Although you still have to have a good call to action behind the peel and a decent landing page to click through.

Attached is the script if you want to try it out. (I had reseller rights at one point) Here is a video on how to install it.

Peelaways are great for getting the clicks.... BUT then you need a kickass offer to seal the deal.

It must be unique, something they haven't seen before on the 27 other poker affiliate websites they've surely visited before landing on yours.

I recommed that you grab their name and email address with your peelaway ad by giving away your own:

1. Poker strategy e-course

2. Special report on how to....?

3. Chip trick videos?

...or anything they would persive as valuable and unique to join your newsletter.

This stuff can be found for free all over the web.... just package it and make it your own.

Build that list and market to them, but always be respectful by only sending real value to their inbox.

It's basic internet marketing 101 and it works.

People want answers to their questions, free stuff and enjoyment in their lives.

Give it to them and they will follow you.
