    Default Creative advertising methods

I am always looking for new ideas and creative advertising methods. Lately there has been a lot of talk about peel downs, and different ways to advertise versus banners, text links, etc.

I cam across this alternative to 468x60 banners today and thought it was pretty cool. Post anything else creative you come across or are aware of in this thread.

    Some simple ways to advertise:

    - Email Autoresponder with a link of your website with a friendly message.
    - Bonus Code Landing pages. Just creating a simple landing page with a box window for people to redeem an offer/s (your affiliate ID) is another way.

The billboard is a neat idea... It is out of the ordinary, so it drew my attention right away... If you reload the page, its ads change... Neat!

Oh yeah. I didn't even notice it. I just assumed it was part of the logo. It did not register when looking at the page. From an advertising point of view, I don't like it because of that, but it is definitely kinda cool and outside the box. Not sure how effective it could be though.

Many of the internal pages on one of my sites bring in a lot of traffic and the site has an excellent page/visit ratio. I used to just have the standard banners in the articles and it wasn't very effective. I decided to try something new so I created a bordered table in the css to set it apart from the article and put a unique ad. in each one on almost every page.

Its still a work in progress but I noticed that they are getting a lot of clicks and there has been a nice increase in signups. Its nothing new or anything but it lets me tell the reader about the bonuses and incentives they will receive for signing up at the room plus some are on topic with the content. It's been much more effective than anything else I've ever tried, especially banners. Here is an example:

It is funny you mention that. I have decided to start looking at creating some css boxes to try to increase my conversion rate.

I was looking around for a wordpress plugin that would have a couple default boxes and allow me to create my own div class (like a box generator) and use it across my site. Still haven't seen a plugin that will do this so for now I am trying a manual solution.

This site is nice but a little work is involved:

It's neat, but I agree that it blends too well with the header, making one not realize it's an advertisement, and perhaps not click it at all.

Doesn't really draw my attention (until you mentioned it of course)

I think that is cool as hell. I think the only reason it blends in so much on this site, is because there is so much on this site. It is a pretty "out there" design. I think for a more standard clean design, that could work great. I mean if it sticks out enough - you almost HAVE to click on that. Just to see what it is.

We probably look at hundreds of websites per week doing what we do. At least I do...and I have never seen anything like that. Im definitely stealing that idea.
