How about a PAL newsletter?

How about a PAL newsletter? I think it will be a good idea to have a newsletter with every week's hottest discussions, featured program of the week, blog posts etc.


What do you guys think about it?

Although the forum is extremely well organized it would be good to have a sum-up with the hottest threads, the best blog posts, top news articles, etc... Weekly might be too much though.

A side benefit of a news letter is that it may bring back members who haven't visited in a while.
If J and his team have the time to do it, it's a great idea.

Yeah, it could also provide news from the affiliate arena and links to popular threads. Maybe even extend the 'Spotlight' forum by providing details of a particular program ...

I think a 2+2 weekly digest thing would be nice.

monthly or bi-monthly would be more realistic. newsletters are a pita to produce (well to produce a nice one anyway) but is a no brainer.

This is definetly something I have been thinking about implementing in the near future. With the radio show once a week, I think a newsletter is probably something that would be better served as a bi-weekly product.

I do like the idea though for many reasons, plus it gives me another plugin or development I can run alongside vbulletin. (I am a VB junkie obviously)

That would be an awesome service. I'd join it. I'd love to get the most important updates without allowing myself to get distracted browsing the forums.

You wouldn't need to subscribe, I would have it built into VB somehow so I could publish it using the database, there's already some good VB newsletter software out there I could have Tommy and our designer modify.
