Default Some Rooms are clueless and doomed to failure!

So, I'm not going to name the room, needless to say they move around a lot. I sent a request to hold a private tournament where I put up 100% of the prize pool. I just needed it set up for me lol.

I finally get a reply back after several days that says:

Before we chat about private tournaments I want you to do xxxxxxxxxx <-------- WTF

Now, I'm putting my own money on the line to bring in new players, on top of the nice amount of players I've been bringing in. And these dumbasses want to play hardball?

News flash : I'll take these players somewhere else lol

Now, if I'm a new affiliate and don't send any converting players, I can see some sort of demands. But I am a regular affiliate sending them good players and planning on running a promo centered around them and they want to put conditions on it? I'm using my own money and you want to make demands? WTF is wring with people?

Once again, this is why rooms fail, they have idiots working for them.

No not Ipoker, but anyway Colin at Reefer got me hooked up instantly. Ya know there is only a few decent AM's really. I can think of like 6 I can always count on, the rest just seem to be trying to make it through the day.

I wonder sometimes if maybe its a culture difference. I mean we all have our own little things. To me, being demanding is almost a deal breaker. If this guy would have said something like

"Yeah we can get this worked out, oh btw what do you think of doing xyz" - That would be ok. But his exact words were, "before we can discuss this, I want you to xyz"

Wow, there shouldn't be any question if you are putting up 100% of the prize pool. That's pretty interesting.

It happened to me too, in a big room.

No freerolls even if I pay the prize pool. I have sent around 10 RMP to this room over one year.

.... dosnt make much sence to me either. AM's should be here to help an affiliate not demand the wrold from them.

At Carbon Poker we have the following general rules in place, obviously we are always open to here new ideas and love to test out new tournament structures. I would love affiliates to tell me they wanted to cover 100% of the pool - we offer all affiliates a "free" freeroll worth $50 and fund the second one for 50% upto $100! I think that's a pretty good offer if what i am hearing above is true!!

    Private tournament guidelines:

    Tournament General Rules:

All tournaments must be set to minimum 10 players (HU leagues must have at least 10 total players).

    Initial Freeroll / Guaranteed tournament:

    * 1 initial freeroll for each affiliate with a $50 cash prizepool.

Second Tournament "Freeroll" (with 50% sponsorship):

    * Affiliate must have at least 10 signups to run a second tournament.
We will match 50% (up to $100) of the prize pool if an affiliate has 20 signups. Sponsorship can be no more than $5 per signup.

Second Tournament "Buy In" (with 50% sponsorship):

    * Affiliate must have a minimum has 45 signups and 15 depositors. We will match 50% (up to $450) of the prize pool if an affiliate has 20 signups. Sponsorship can be up to $10 per signup.

    Additional Tournaments:

If your initial tournaments are not profitable, we will work with you until your player base is returning adequate revenue to support additional sponsored games. Until then you will be required to fund 100% of your private tournaments.

You can even request the tournament straight from the drop down form when you are logged in here..pdcaffiliates tournament request

I get asked all the time to place programs in a prominent position, i generally just humour the request and continue to do as i feel.

If people want to demand that i place something or do something then my answer is:

Send me $20,000 and i will transfer ownership to you and you can do as you please, however, when i own it dont demand i do anything!
