Since we are going to be talking about viral marketing in the last segment of the radio show today, I figured this could make for a good post while our minds are all on it.

I'll post a recap of the radio content here after the show as well. The one thing I love about viral marketing though is that it will produce more traffic than SEO at first, and because of new links will essentially increase your SEO rankings far after your viral campaign has ended.

For those not familiar with viral marketing, it's when you engage in a campaign of sending out massive amounts of trojan horses to infect unsuspecting users computers.

An example would be a virus that will change the desktop image of the users PC to that of your companies logo and then force their browser to always default to your homepage and not permit them to change it back.

As we all know, people tell others about something they hate approximately 3-4 times more often than about something they like. So your goal here is to get people to hate you so they talk about you.
