    Default Poker Videos as marketing

In an effort to further market MPC, I decided to to start producing some poker videos. I did my first one tonight and could use some feedback since I plan to create a bunch this week. check it out:

    xxhttp://www.mypokercorner.com/poker-videos/strategy/pot-odds-in-poker/

Having watched it now, I realize I could have probably finished with some call to actions. I do so via text at the end, but maybe I should have done so verbally as well. Sound quality isn't the best, but that's all I can do for now.

    Anyway, thanks for your feedback

Personally i think the Video is too long. Its obviously targeted at absolute beginners and i feel you might lose a few over the lenght of the Video.

The information density is pretty high and you probably should have split the video into two parts one covering the absolut basics and the other more in depth concepts.

Production wise i like it alot, i think the Video could use some captions or subtitle to highlight some key ideas.

In case you dont know TubeMogul.com | In-Depth Tracking, Analytics for Online Video | Web Video Syndication check it out for some nice seo benefits of Video distribution.

Nice video, however I think the idea to split into 2 part it is worth considering.

In additional you should use some table to write the main ideas to the beginners (the majority of people are visual type) or to comment on the video.

Also do not forget to add the introductory part to the social medias.

It will be great, nice job

Hi Polka, you are probably correct that this may be too much info. It all seems so simple to me, but I'm biased! lol Splitting it would be a good idea. And adding captions too. I am aware of tubemongul and I use it, but thanks for pointing it out.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, can you clarify? Adding some visual aids is certianly a good suggestions. Thanks!

I like the style and general quality of the video.

I would focus a bit more on showing how people will benefit from knowing pot odds in the first minutes of the video. Basically "selling" the video to those watching. Maybe you could give the viewer a concrete objective in the beginning of the video "By the end of this video you will be able to calculate whether or not you should call a bet or raise when you hold a flushdraw". By giving the viewer a very concrete goal, it will be easier for them to figure out if they have learned what they were "supposed" to, and get a feeling that they watching the video were beneficial to them "Awesome, i learned to xxxx" and then go watch more videos.

You could try using a Powerpoint to illustrate the math and make the lessons seem a bit more concrete and "real". Or you could use real cards, which I think would fit nicely with the style of your video.

Personally I would have made a much stronger distinction between pot odds and the probability calculations (odds of hitting a draw etc.). In a stand alone video it doesn't really matter, but if you are creating a series, I think it may come back to bite you.

I think it would have been better to have some more examples with calculating the odds of hitting a hand and how to use pot odds, instead of the segments on implied odds and bluffing.

OK, so what I retain from these comments is:

Tell the viewers what they will learn ealry in the clip

Stick to the point, and make it shorter

Use visual aids to explain concepts (power points, cards, charts, etc)

Use captions to highlight key points

One things I am planning on doing is to record some of my own playing sessions and use them as examples for the various concepts. I won't be doing this for all videos, but when its appropriate I will.

I meant you should upload it to video sharing websites like youtube but only a short version what only contains the introduction of your video.

I know it is the marketing part thats why it was just a note

Alright so I created a new video to try an intergrate some of the suggestions that were made. This one took me all friggin day to make. This isn't a remake, it's a new topic. Videos I am making right now are very basic, but that's because I want to post them on some of my sites which target poker noobs.

    Comments are appreciated as always!

Dude.... I ran out of Kleenex and I wasn't even trough the first video.

    Just kidding man,

I like this stuff, it's original and you could also add marketing towards the end, like try bonus code x at poker room y.

    Thanks
    Sebastian

    That's a great idea! I don't know why I didn't think about that.

Oh wait... I did! I guess you really did run out of Kleenex!
