Default No visitors but getting clicks..

....how does that happen? I only promote a certain poker room on one of my sites that gets very few visitors but when I look at the stats on the poker room affiliate end I get clicks showing even on days when there has been no visitors . So how does that happen?

It sounds like some form of Bot is triggering your click counter.

I think some affiliate programs also treat a google spider that clicks on your affiliate links as a visit, but not 100% on that.

Yup, it has to be Search Engine bot. It happens when spider visit your site often.

Thanks everyone, although disheartening to know its a bot as my sites don't get that many click throughs as it is. Back to the books to reread everything again then.

I commonly test my affiliates tracking even if they don't and this results in clicks being added. I guess this could be the case here.
