Breaking News: Pokerlistings.com founder passes away at 36

Tonight I received the tragic news that a true entrepreneur in our industry, Andreas Oscarsson has passed away. The cause of death has not yet been established. Andreas was considered by most to be the largest poker affiliate in the world; recently stepping down as CEO of the mega portal PokerListings.com



Certainly our prayers go out to his family in their time of loss and we wish the staff at PL our condolences.

Oscarsson was a professional poker player, winning Event 42 of the WSOP in 2005. His passion for the game was evident in the work done at PL and other gaming sites.

In the past several years Andreas was able to leverage his online prowess into several verticals including, but not limited too, mortgage and debt companies. His most recent work was on the successful brand Result.com

I had the joy of meeting Andreas on more than one occasion and this comes as a big shock to me...

I had sort of lost touch with him over the last couple of years but my thoughts and prayers go to his family and close friends in this difficult time..

The investigation of the murder of 36-year-old goes on. After interviews with colleagues and friends in Stockholm and Gothenburg has information about a specific threat against the man.

There is still no suspect for the murder of 36-year-old. On Wednesday, the hearing leaders call with business associates, colleagues and friends in Stockholm and Gothenburg, which has given the police information that there was a threat against the man. Thord Haraldsson, director of county crime in Trollhättan, still will not comment in which the man worked in the industry. But he says that he believes the man was rich, however, he does not want to comment on whether the company that the man was a partner was successful or whether there were financial worries.

- There were contacts with Sweden from the USA. And some parts were left in Sweden, but if I took the right action was mostly in the U.S., "said Thord Haraldsson.

Contacts with New York

Police work has so far been concentrated in Sweden, but the county crime has also had contacts with New York where the man lived, and where the mother to the joint child still. Yesterday, the police special children investigators questioning of the two-year son and under Thord Haraldsson, he was able to provide certain information. But he would not comment on what the data contained. Or if the boy was awake and conscious when the murder was committed.

- We have talked and played with him. Children Investigators do it in his special way, and they have been able to obtain certain information.

Autopsy

On Wednesday, an autopsy of the man. The technical investigation of the scene continues and there is no new information on how the offender had entered.

The man shot to death but Thord Haraldsson do not wish to comment with how many shots, or where on the body the man was shot. The police, however, should have an idea of what kind of weapons used

Pokerlistings has always been a affiliate company who i looked up to. I never had the pleasure of meeting him in persone but this is a sad day for the poker affiliate community.
