Hi and welcome to the forum.
You have a very long road ahead of you, the are ALOT of things you will need to learn and research.

Use the search feature here in the forum when a question pops up and use google.
Write down all your questions as they come because you cant research everything at once.

I would suggest that you start a small site to start with focusing on something simple like "horse strategy" or whatever. Just something that dosent require you to build a huge portal that covers everything. Dont start out to big.

Here are some threads to get you started:

Spend a few days and read every post around here. Get familiar with how people talk in the industry and catch up on the ins and outs. You will find people at PAL are quite helpful if you need some advice - so don't hesitate to ask. Good luck!

I use aweber for all of my email marketing needs. I use HostGator for most of my hosting. I have all my domains registered at GoDaddy. I bet and like to promote BookMaker quite a bit.

Let me save you some time,

First, learn about leveraging the blogging platform called Wordpress. It is an extremely powerful tool for SEO and it gives you a lot of flexibility and customization options.

Second, read and post on this forum every day, ask questions until you feel you have squeezed as much knowledge as you possibly can.

Third, make friends/network with affiliates that have established reputations. Always keep an open mind when they are giving you advice. You need to challenge your knowledge all the time.

Lastly, when you have gathered all this knowledge, you will need to go against it a little bit. Do something different than what everyone else is doing. Find a creative niche, create content that has a unique voice, use atypical strategies for SEO. The competition is stiff, this is a given. Ask yourself what is your edge going to be? What can I do differently.

Amassing knowledge is great, but letting it go and being creative will take you to the next echelon. Follow this recipe and time will make you successful. This is exactly what I've done, and I have had some solid results to show for it.

Being familiar with online poker is a good start, but you have a long way to go. Read everything you can in this forum and google online poker. Check out some of the sites that come up at the top of the list to get a general idea of what kind of information you will need to include in your site. Making money as a poker affiliate is usually not an instant process. It takes time for you to build your site and start getting traffic. If you work hard at it and learn everything you can about being a good affiliate, it will eventually start to pay off.

    1. Buy a domain and hosting.
    2. Install Wordpress (WordPress › Blog Tool and Publishing Platform) on it and play around with it.

Start blogging on the new site and figure out how to move everything over there (this is probably more difficult than it sounds). When you have the site up and running there, I think you will benefit from adding some guides with genuine recommendations of poker rooms/rakeback sites.

All i can add to this is first only read up on what all the affiliates are offering. Like what is MGR and CPA? Do I want one or the other? etc etc. Gathering all the info is the first step. Next or maybe simultaneously is setting up the site with a specific goal.

    1. Learn to write well.
    2. Learn html.
    3. Learn SEO.
    4. Launch your website.
    5. Write content every day.
    6. Promote your content every day.

Repeat the above steps over and over again until you're rich.

Don't spend all your time in the forums trying to soak up everyone's wisdom. If you do that, you'll never have time to work on your site. Limit your forum visits to maybe once a day.

Don't spend all your time reading SEO blogs. Learn the basics at someplace reputable like SEObook.com or HighRankings.com, then spend your time working on your site and focusing on the fundamentals.

Stay away from anything shady or tricky. Shortcuts only work temporarily, and you won't make enough money to make them worth your while.
