Default europoker back ? how come

    hi all

just trying to figure this out

as I understood it europoker.com and pokerroom.com which affiliates promoted via pokeraffiliate was no more we were told that was it

and bwin (who I understood owned the brands) were no longer wanting affiliates for these brands etc

so presumably others did the same with their pokerroom and europoker reviews and directed the visitors to those reviews to bwin

but now Ive read europoker.com is now active again etc

EuroPoker.com Ups the Ante in Groundbreaking Reshuffle of its Website...

and also got the same news from another source

so I'm confused I cant see any way to promote them on the site / nothing for affiliates

so did bwin sell the site / brand ? same with pokerroom ?

just tyring to make some sense of it

    cheers scrawnybob

    EuroPoker.com, CasinoRoom.com and PokerAffiliate.com was bought/leased by a group of investors.
They still operate under bwin gaming licenses.

PokerAffiliate.com is the site for you if your looking to promote EuroPoker.com

Yes, that should be the explanation. But what about player databases? This sentence confuses me "has seen player numbers surge to nearly 2 million in recent months, aims to increase its growing membership"

The investors running EuroPoker.com continued running the old player database after bwin tried to convert as many as possible to bwin first.
They did not start from scratch again with a blank player database if you thought so.

So what ever happened to all those players we affiliates have sent to EuroPoker.com all these years, I have no idea. All I know is some players still play but you are not making any revenue out of them through your old account at PokerAffiliate.com
I only had x players playing on PokerRoom.com so I didn't look it to this (as PokerRoom.com players now can't play). However I did point out to the new investors this would be a problem for the affiliates that have sent so many players to EuroPoker all these years.
I'm really surprised no one have brought this up before.

Default so presumably your saying ...

    hi

so presumably your saying that I can dig out my old pokeraffiliate.com account details and login ...

I'll be plensantly suprised all my players are still tracked to me and that I've earnt a load more money and all the players that would have been ready to convert are still there on my stats ?

hmm - I'm guessing more likely is that somewhere along the line and meandering "move this, change that, we're no longer this or that, bwin this blah blah" all of that will have got lost into someone elses pocket

yep just checked and account details are obviously not existing anymore

so those investors get to run the previous existing player base - without the tedious issue of paying affiliates or bothering to keep or having to inherit our existing database of stats etc - more bull

and you know what like all these things - we'll rollover and start again with some other outfit because thats a marginally better option than letting reviews sit doing nothing

thanks for clarifying things Lovina - sounds like I'm not the only one that isnt exactly impressed

    cheers scrawnybob

Yes, this was handled in a really bad way.

Looking at the conversion of my PokerRoom.com players to bwin was also a disaster (at least for me).
I find it really strange because I think bwin is one of the best brands out there that really can deliver a very very good product to their customers.

Default "taking it on the chin" seems to be all part of the job

    hi

yep afiaks over only the few years I've been doing this alot of the job is about "just taking things on the chin" and dealing with it

some things are obviously unavoidable (UIGEA etc)

and I'm under no illusion about "lifetime" players etc but that just seems plain wrong - but like all these things is decision time to take the less of the two evils

Absolute / UB stand seems to have become the same - everyone seems to be back promoting them, not many stopped playing there in any great numbers, all the big sites are promoting them again - so continuing to boycott promoting them for the principles of players seems pointless also

beginning to get the feeling that the numbers game we play with traffic / conversions we are also playing with sites we work with / ones that pay or dont shaft us somewhere down the line

it just really hacks me off that I'm signing up for a new account at an affiliate site that already got players and traffic etc
(my first one as I started out as a pokerroom player) - but what choice really is there - and they all know this

you can try to sell in site B in a review for site A but not having a link to site A without a good reason is pretty much not offering what a searcher was looking for afaiks

rant over - back to the DIY
    scrawnybob

ps. I guess my next question is what's going to happen with pokerroom.com - clearly the site is still there so how long before the same thing happens with that site ????
