Default Using your SEO skills in other markets

As requested by a few members, I made a blog post tonight about how I parlayed my internet skills into real estate, and made a boat load of money at the time.

Obviously real estate is weak right now, but don't forget, we work in one of the toughest online markets in the world. It is not hard to take your skills into another market and dominate it. If anyone wants to bounce ideas off me or whatever involving real estate, please feel free to contact me, I'd love to help you out.

Great point here Enke, we do operate in a very competitive industry with online gambling. The other day there was a post here about other ultra-competitive verticals such as finance and education. However, new products and markets are popping up daily and the demand online for those goods and services is apparent. It would be great to leverage on some of the core practices used promoting online gaming (design, seo, calls to action, loyalty programs, etc.) and parlay those skill sets into hot areas.

This summer we were all talking Forex. I am sure that as the economy changes new opportunities will arise and webmasters 'in the know' can take advantage of the tools they used making money in poker for those new verticals.

Thanks for the article Jeremy and giving people what they want! You may very well hear from me in the near future.

I'm not sure if it is the same in the U.S, but over here there are two main real estate sites where you can find local listings. Then there are the real estate sites themsevles which rank for the area you are targeting. Both these types of sites dominate the listings I guess.

I guess one of my questions is what are you going to offer that is different than the local branch of a real estate agency that ranks already?

if the local real estate agencies are ranking for those terms already, then you just work to outrank them. I'm sure there will be competition for the money terms in most markets. Point being that if we can rank well for poker terms, local real estate terms shouldn't be a tough nut to crack.

I haven't tried this for real estate, but this plan honestly can work for any vertical in a local market. Imagine a local niche site offering car repair services. Do you think most mechanics can build a site and outrank you? Do you think you could work out a deal where you get paid a referral commission for ever lead you send someone?

Local niche seo service could be extremely lucrative.

    Great article J.

The man behind the curtain is fixing it right now. People like me should never be given admin or root access, even on my own sites.

    **fixed** Mike is the man.
