Default Mixing Poker Content With Casino Content

I have been thinking about adding some casino content to some our poker sites , has anyone tested conversions , clickthru's or any other data that might be helpful?

As an example if you had say a niche site about party poker and you wanted to add party casino content.

I see alot of site doing this but dont really know the true results.

Also does anyone see any potential pitfalls in this methodology?

Generally speaking poker players and casino players tend to be pretty different. Poker is a skill game played against other players, so you have a chance of winning long term. Many players want to have that chance of winning, even if they are so bad that they would have been better off playing the roulette.

I'm sure you can get a ton of crossover players, but I think you should consider what kind of players that are visiting your site before you add casino content.

I know some affiliates see players sign up at a poker room and then start playing in their casino, but I don't recall any of my own players ever doing that.

A couple months ago I added some casino ads. on one of my poker sites. I only added the ads. to around 10-15 high traffic pages but the results have been much better than I anticipated. I just checked and they have sent 60 pmps and 11 rmps since then. I was pushing a $20 no deposit bonus though so that may account for many of the signups. The casino also accepts U.S. players so thats probably another important factor. Overall I think it worked out pretty well.

    Go for it.

I make much more money advertising casinos on my generally poker-related domain then from poker sponsors. Yes, it sounds weird but that's the fact. But most of the casino visitors are coming to my internal casino pages from specific casino keyword searches (mostly Google).
