Affiliate Payment Processing

I have always been curious about this so those with knowledge or affiliate managers if you could shed some light I would appreciate it. What are the processes that most rooms go through at the end of the month before paying out their affiliates. The reason I ask is because of the obvious time differences between room x and y with regards to when they pay.

Obviously I assume there is some sort of audit and it is largely dependent on the number of affiliates, but what other things need to happen on your side before we get paid. Just curious, would love to hear some input!

When I used to do it it was mostly fraud / error checking, then making sure the accounts team new the urgency of getting the payments out. We used to aim to get it done within 7 days of EOM.

We must run the reports, check for fraud or errors and forward to the owners for final approval. Then this is sent to accounting for payment. Inevitably people don't have payment information updated so this delays things sometimes.
