Recommended hosts based in UK

Any other UK based affiliates care to recommend a decent host? My current one has gone beyond a joke.

Well I use eUKhost, but haven't used it a lot (yet) so I hesitate to recommend it (although others have recommended it to me).

Half expecting you to say that they are the ones that you use now and are rubbish!

I can truly recommend 4UHosting. I have tried several others (SkyNetHosting, United Hosting) but 4UHosting simply stands out. They also have a good service level.

You can do everything you need, simple stuff to complicated cron jobs using cpanel.

I am from the UK and host on US servers, why do they have to be UK located?

The general acceptance is that sites hosted in the UK will perform better in the UK search rankings.

It just depends on the sort of audience you're looking to attract I suppose ...

i didnt know that, you would think .co.uk domain would be a bigger indicator.

Oh it is. It's just that a .co.uk site hosted in the UK really underlines the fact that it's a British site aimed at Google.co.uk
