A friend of mine pointed that out to me last night. Maybe someone here knows the behind-the-scenes stuff?

Pokerpages was sold quite awhile ago, a year maybe... probably when Bugsy's closed. Apparently the Napalitanos sold to Feduniak/Cordovez/etc.

I find it hard to believe "closing" is the right word. More likely a new site will appear on the URL, but the whois ownership has not changed. Simply "closing" (pages going 404)would be insane.

Depending how their company is setup, it may be smart to use the term closing, which could allow the to get out from w/e obligations they may have.

My guess would be they will be going in a new direction and looking for a fresh start

I would guess they are going to re-brand. Would be crazy to just close the site down and not use the traffic or authority of the site.

Ya whats the deal they said 10/31 no more pokerpages. I contacted them about buying it and got one reply and then all my emails bounced after that, so they appear to have shut down their email servers at least. Site is still live though.

If somebody from the site reads this please get in touch with me, would be a shame to see all that great content disappear forever.
