Default Thoughts on Transferring Big amount of money on Poker sites.

Hey guys I just wanted to get some opinions on transferring biggger amounts of money on poker sites like 10K and then withdrawing it right away.

I guess I kind of got the fear they'll try and make me roll it over or something which I dont want to do.

Did this with a $250 transfer on Stars and they made me play with it before they'd let me withdraw it.

    Tilt, never had that problem.

I did have that problem with Tilt. Someone paid me for content on there and I tried to withdraw it and they wouldn't let me. Said it wasn't my money in the first place.

So then I played a little and then tried again with no luck. I ended up giving the money back and getting payment in another form.

I have never had problems getting money off Tilt in the times I have done it. I think the play through requirement at Stars is 20% of the transfer.

I've done it on Stars and have had no problems at all but it was for smaller amounts and I have played there a fair amount over the years.

I dont mind putting an extra $500 in and keep it in there to play with but I need the 10K for something different Should I email them and ask them about it?

I would contact customer support first, that is a lot of money to get tied up in a players acccount if needed for something else. Be sure to keep documentation of what their response is.

Talk to the room before doing it.

A lot of variables come into play when you transfer big sums of money, so even if a room let you transfer and withdraw 500$ they may go into a coma when you try it with 10.000$.

You should also be aware that if anything goes wrong, you will end up wasting a lot of time talking to the network's security department and probably wait 2+ weeks to be able to withdraw the money.

I'm by no means an expert on the subject, but some of my friends regularly do big transfers, and have had to deal with some pretty ridiculous things.

Personally I wouldn't make a big transfer on a site unless both parties have good relations with the them, either as an affiliate or by paying a lot of rake, and even then I wouldn't be thrilled about it.

A poker room is a poker room and not a bank. Use a bank or a web-bank like Moneybookers or Neteller to trasfer money.

You can deposit money at a poker room for free - they pay the commissions. Before you can cash out the money, they want you to have paid a certain amount of rake in order to cover their costs. And even if you play the necessary minimum of hands, there is still a risk as they could interpret this as money laundring and block your funds.

No way I would use a poker room to transfer money.

If you deposit with Neteller and want to withdraw with Neteller the site most likely wont allow you do it. I believe that even the biggest sites like FTP have to pay $250+ fees in $10,000 deposits.

I emailed Stars about it and they said I need to play atleast 15% VPP's.

I have no idea how much 15% VPP's is any ideas on how much I would have to play?

I'm also not that good at poker so I would probably play $20 SNG or .25 .50 no limit
