Default Predictive Search Results effect on SEO

It seems like the suggested search results being provided by Google (called Google Suggest) and others are getting quite a bit better. Honestly, the last 5/6 times I’ve been looking for something and typed 6 characters in, the complete phrase I was suggested.

Last night I was shopping for a new coat on Amazon and I noticed the same thing again; only this time better results due to my generic range of options.

So this got me thinking about us in the gaming biz. Organic search is very important to us. Does this new predictive search feature make SEO easier to build from; but much more competitive for key terms? Also, for players who aren’t familiar with the exact terminology used (by us) in the industry this makes their traffic even more valuable.

What are you doing differently on your sites and SEO strategy? People are pretty used to T9 technology now after using it for years to text message (before smartphones). I can see this feature very popular for mobile users who don’t want to type an entire phrase out.

Here is a good article on how each major engine classifies and displays predictive search results.

what browser do you use? If it is Chrome that could explain a lot.

Were you logged in when you did this? Because if I type in "online poker" I get completely different results.

This is the best thing that has happened for the rooms themselves in a long time. Now, before you have an option to type out the domain they'll jut suggest it for you. Not great news for affiliates...
