Hey guys, does anyone have any experience with Google's AdWords? If so, what are your opinions on it. Thanks

In this industry, just forget it. I worked very hard to get an account and used it for all of about 3 days before deciding it was never going to work.
Outside of this industry, well, used to spend £1000 plus a day and would not work without it.
If you are more specefic with the question you may get more insight.

Appreciate the reply. Would be using it for a new poker room and just wondering if it would be worth my while. From the sounds of it, probably not?
Not sure you would be able to get a gambling account based in US and you deffo wont get one for a site that targets none UK traffic.
I know some have been knocked back for some of the rooms they carry on their sites too, although, i had no such issue.
Think there is another european country or maybe even 2 that are allowed in now too, however, not sure.

Google Adsene rejected my proposal for putting Adsense on my poker blog without giving a reason. I have a .com site but I'm blogging in German.
This is a bit strange as there are blog directories where I submitted my blog which use Adsene and make ads for poker chips, tables, cards and more.
I don't care too much about the rejection, but it seems the have a somewhat inconsistent policy on which sites to accept and which sites to reject.
"The harder I work, the luckier I get."
Some site owners open Google Adsense accounts from non-gambling sites, then add Adsense to their gambling sites. I don't think it's an acceptance/rejection thing so much as a someone isn't following the rules but hasn't gotten caught yet thing.
Surely its not hard for google to tell when ads are displayed on gambling related sites?
I mean as soon as they start pulling gambling ads then they must stand out like a sore thumb.
Perhaps they really dont want to stop it?
I find it quite weird that they dont want to have adsense on gambling sites, understand the otherway round, however not for adsense.

Thanks guys! Any other ideas on general marketing for the room? Could use all the help I can get.
adwords and adsense are completely different things. 1 is buying ppc ads on google pages or in content and one is hosting adsense on your sites and making money when someone clicks...
Using adwords for gambling is not allowed here in the US although the UK whitelisted some ppc'ers i believe? However, even though it is not allowed the determined can find ways through, as you can see if you google some gambling terms. I've never done adwords for gambling terms. It looks challenging and from what I've read you will get your adwords google account banned if you keep doing it after their first few warnings, so it's not recommended if you care about having an adwords account.

Also it should be noted that Google's rules are a bit different in the US than say in the UK.
