Question How much would you pay somebody to negotiate for you?

So we all know how it works, you send more players, you can negotiate for more money, right? So how much is that worth to an affiliate? How do you assign a value to that service?

What would be fair compensation for a consultant to negotiate significantly better deals for you? Would you pay them a percentage or a flat rate? Perhaps give them a percentage of the increase in value negotiated for you?

How would you structure a deal like this?

just learn to negotiate yourself, if you have the ability to send gauranteed players in volume you are a valuable commodity, just pitch it to as many people and play everyone against each other until you get the best price.

For something like this I don't think I would trust anyone to do this for me. I guess if you have a trusted partner, but I dunno.

negotiators are used where huge sums of money are dealt with, and often times in scenarios that would be considered "make or break." if you are an athlete an agent could lose an offer completely, and leave you helpless. you do not have this risk.

i can't see am's being such ridiculous negotiators that you will be screwed to the ground during the negotiation process.

would never pay anyone for this. They don't know your business as well as you do and most "negotiations" are just email exchanges these days, so not like some high pressure situation where someone with good skills will excel. If you think you can get better deals, you don't negotiate, you create an advertising package that is not negotiable and tell them how much advertising now costs.

A lot of hard-ball responses there - and I'd tend to agree with the general thrust that this should be something that you can deal with yourself.

However, if you are a relative newbie, then I do think that there could be an advantage in having an industry experienced professional in your corner to help guide you through what is a good deal and what is not.

I'd expect to pay a small flat fee (perhaps $300-$500) for a senior professional to spend up to a couple of hours mentoring me through the responses to get a good deal if it was a new industry or segment of the market.

Between 5% and 20% if the person works for you full time. If it's a consultant from outside your company, then a flat fee.
