Arrow Best way to advertise poker related content...

Hey I think it would be beneficial if we could start a thread and discuss about best places to advertise poker related content.

Lets say a poker related website has 10k unique visitors a month. What would be considered a good deal for a banner ad in the top middle place if its rotating with 8 other banners?

Also if the website offering 500k impressions how much clicks I should expect? Just trying to count which method to use CPC or CPM.

    Any advices?

IMO, very hard to quantify. Quality of traffic plays such a huge role in how much I would pay for either CPC traffic or CPM.

10k hits from "poker bonus code" searchers is much much much better than say 50k hits from "no deposit bonus code" searchers...

See what I'm saying? So the place to start would be to find out the traffic sources and key phrases that the site is getting their organic hits from.

I'd be willing to pay a much higher CPC for traffic from twoplustwo, populated by lots of high volume and well read, advanced players, than I would from a "beginners" poker strategy forum...

Consider the quality of their traffic before you pony up the dough for a campaign.

Any CPC services which you know which allow poker related content to advertise? Because I know that major CPC as adwords doesnt allow gambling related content.

    500K impressions divided by 8 = 62,500 impressions.

Let's say you get a 1% clickthrough rate:

    62,500 * .01 = 625 clicks

Out of 6250 clicks you get a 1% conversion rate to 1st depositor

    625 * .01 = 6.25 new depositors

Let's say each new depositor is worth $100 to a poker room. That ad is worth about $600.

    ---

Obviously you can work with those numbers to what your clickthrough and conversion rates are.

Why exactly do you divide from 8? Also I dont think click and converstion rates will be that small.
