Default Making Money During a Recession

I read a really good article yesterday on Steve Pavlina's website about the sort of things you should be thinking about and doing during a recession. The article is quite lengthy, but his views and discussion on the topic is quality. This website was reccommended by Randy a couple of weeks ago on his radio show, so a shout out to him for finding this gem.

I've been reading Steve's blog for about a year, and it is a constant source of inspiration and unique thinking about every day life. He has a pretty amazing collection of articles about just about everything. You could read that site every day for a couple of years and not get to everything. I recommend at least browsing around a bit at that site. Check out the 'most popular posts' section on the left at least.

Thanks for the link Hazo, gave you a boost in site rep.

The only thing I didn't like about his article was how overly lengthy it was. It seemed like he continually rehashed the same idea over and over.

Perhaps this was an attempt to ensure it was pushed into everyones heads (CREATE and DELIVER value!) Or maybe it's just a poor writing style. I think he could have said everything in a much shorter post with less repitition.

That being said, it was a good article and I'll have to check out some more of his posts.

Agree that this is a great blog...

Wonder how many aspiring affiliates actually ask themselves what their value-add is? My guess is very few... current forum members excepted of course.

    Particularly liked this paragraph:

Bloggers fall into this trap when they rehash other people’s content and don’t really have anything unique or compelling to say. A year later their niche is flooded with competitors doing the same thing. And hardly anyone is earning decent income from it.

    - Now replace the word 'bloggers' with 'Many Poker Affiliates', hehe... food for thought.

Thanks for the reminder to read Pavlina more often!

    Cheers, Mark

Nick, I wish you wouldn't post links to sites I'm not allowed to read, it just makes me feel shitty about myself.

Found this on copyblogger (a worthwhile read for those who do not know it)... thought this post fitted right in with this thread!

Thanks for that link Mark. That was a really good read. Everything he said in there is so true. It was to the point and easy to read as well so it didn't drag on. I have that site bookmarked but I haven't looked around much. I'm to have to now.
