    Default Ipoker crackdown?

Looks like they're shutting down some affiliates and removing players from the network.

WARNING! Ipoker keeps shutting down winning playerss - Internet Poker - Online Poker Forum

They've said they'd be doing something about the previous problems, so I assume that's why this affiliate was shut down yesterday.

so they are shutting down players and affiliates involved in rakeback?
I'm not surprised at all when players were offered 60% rakeback under the table.

I highly doubt that this is something new. It's no secret that smaller skins have to ban some winners to avoid any win/loss penalties. That should be the major reason not any affiliate deals.

Bad publicity for the network as a whole.

I didn't see anything about shutting down affiliates in that thread. Just the old kicking of players who withdraw too much compared to what they deposit...

Yeah nothing new here. These guys are a train wreck IMO. Sun Poker is the only site on there I think is doing things right. Even so, would love to see them move somewhere else or go independent.

Also, this is not a Rakeback Violation issue. They actually fine skins with winning players. That makes no sense to me. Can someone explain?

In a nutshell they feel it is a drain on the economy within the network. Basically too much going out (withdrawals), but not enough coming in (deposits). In iPoker's perfect world everyone would break even.

They are tryign to control a variable that is uncontrollable. So let's assume they kick all winning players off. Then they have bad players, and still someone has to win right?

I guess this policy of fines and kicking good players off reminds me of some silly corporate policy of some kind coming down from some exec that is clueless.

Also it is encouraging sending clueless players which means players being sent form aff's offering no or little value.

So they kick out players they earn most money (rake) with? Hm, don't think that this makes much sense.
For the players, it would be better to reduce the overall rake they take. This would turn marginal losers into break-even players and break-even players into winning players: Rake is the single most imporatant reason why far more than 80% of all online poker players are losers.

Theoretically no one "has" to win. If 6 players play a $6 pot 6 times and each player wins once, they will all be losing due to the rake. This is what iPoker thinks should be happening (because they are idiots).
