Default How would affiliates feel about this?

Ive been thinking that in the poker market there are no advertising networks that do like adsense style contextual ads that are PPC or banner ads that are CPM.

Would webmaters be interested in getting paid this way, possibly having gauranteed income if you have any traffic at all, instead of say having to earn each signup PPS before you get paid.

    Thoughts on such?

If the payouts were high enough, I would certainly think about this on a few of my sites.

I also would be interested, would basically all boil down to payouts though.

I had a site b4 semi related to poker with over 350,000 unique and 1.5 million page views per month I could not monetize well. Would have been interested for certain then. I miss owning that site despite it never making much.
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.

I've also thought about this since I do have an existing ad network script that I built myself ages ago. My problem with launching something along these lines was this:

    1. While you could let other affiliates advertise on the network, it'd be them that got the signups from the players coming through those ads, and not the site itself.
    2. Same as above but replace affiliates with actual programs.

The problem with those 2 things above is the obvious difference in income and the fact that you'd have affiliates like yourself publishing these ads on their site and losing out on these prospective signups. yeah, you'd get the CPC/CPM rate, but that's a pretty big difference in payout with MGR/CPA versus CPC/CPM.

Even taking into account geo-targetting and allowing affiliates to place their own filler ads, I still think you'd see a lot of angry affiliates.

On the flip side, the only solution I thought of to this was running your own banners as the network, paying a CPC or a CPM (probably a CPC) and tracking where the individual signups came from on the network so you could give a percentage of the signup CPA or MGR to that site. But then that's money coming from your own pocket.

But yeah, trust me, you're not the only one that's pondered this. :P

It would be nice, but the payouts would have to be very high to compensate for the loss of affiliate incomes and send traffic to sites of competition

? Online poker is allowed for Americans, there are just some issues that Europeans (and others) don't have to deal with.
