3 Most Important Things You Look For In An Affiliate Program

Hey guys,

I'm sure there's a couple threads about this deep in the forums and remember back in the day seeing one on PAW, but as some of you know I dabble in many markets and am in the process of starting my own affiliate program/network.

So, with that in mind... what are the top 3 things you want in a solid affiliate program? Poker, Casino or any industry for that matter. The 3 things you really would want in the ultimate affiliate program. Accurate real-time stats, on time payments... etc?

I really want to get a sense for what you guys value most in a program. Feel free to put more than 3, but thought that would make it quick for everyone.

Thanks to anyone for taking a quick minute and helping me. I imagine some AM's will also see this thread so it might be a good list for not just me, but the affiliate industry in general.

Agree plus a few top on my mind:

conversion rates
Traffic/ betting options
rackeback (yes or no) % given to player and my commission

I think it matters a lot what type of site/sites you are running... for us (regional grinder community) those are the most important things:

1. Need it to be a very solid regulated company (example Ladbrokes). This is very important lately
2. Ready to push the deal (for the players) to the limit with simple to understand promotions, without breaking network rules
3. Messenger/Skype contact with 1-2 key people who are ready to solve problems quickly

Hard to have all three but that's the ideal . Fast payments to players are important too, it can become difficult with special deals and promotions

1) Good communcation - doesn't constantly message you, but when you need something they are there.
2) Good product
3) Recommendations from other affiliates

From the new affiliates standpoint...

Support is number one for sure

I had 25 affiliate programs that I joined, but narrowed the list down to 16 who I will promote because the others either didn't reply or didn't effectively answer any questions.

Timely payments and easy tracking would be the other two areas. PokerStars is a great model affiliate company (payments aside). They have solid support, comprehensive help in the affiliate area, and everything you need to do is clearly outlined.

Some sites are a pain to simply configure a text link to the sites home page, make it simple yet thorough.

Id combine the back end of PDC, Payment speed of SNG Wiz with the communications / service skills of the PAW team...

Conversions, speedy payments and clear reporting + terms being my top criteria.

In general, even thinking outside of gaming, I look for:

- Established brands that have been around for a while
- Excellent support
- Chatter about at program or AM on a related message board
- a willingness to work with you

The three most important things for me are:

1 - Communication
2 - Good, detailed backend with lots of marketing material
3 - On-time payments
