    Default YouTube Partnership

I"m pretty sure I know the answer to this one but thought I'd see if anyone here has done the YouTube partnership thing.

I posted a poker video early this year, and it's got a little over 82K views.
Around the 75K mark when I signed on I got an invite to a YT partnership.
While I'm not sure if the income from a single video would amount to anything (altho I have four more in the 30-45K view range), I'm hesitant to go ahead with it as it is of course the intellectual property of ESPN.

At the same time YouTube is chock full of other people's/corporations/sports channel's intellectual properties, so I'm wondering if I should go ahead and apply for the partnership thing or would it be risking having the video disappear, which would be a pain 'cause I get traffic to FT from the video and the channel it's on.

    Thanks for any input.

Intellectual property especially if it gets popular will eventually go down. YouTube partnership can be lucrative but in our market I don't think, basically you need to geta million views to make money BUT if you can get that kind of volume you can make a bit, something like 1/4 of a penny per view or so. Looked into it awhile back, cool way to monetize something that goes viral.

Default That's pretty much what I'd been thinking

The income from a single video even with an ongoing 10K views/month would probably not be too terribly large.
And will probably make more by simply using the vid to link to card rooms, websites, etc.

    Thanks

I use vids/YouTube a bit but I am not sure what you mean? As in if someone clicked on the vid itself it would open whichever site?

You can't embed your ads if that's what you mean Nick, you can use a raw link within your description but that's already been played out as far as I can tell. Curious if anyone techy has done anything cool here though...

Actually, this has been possible for a couple of months. Not sure how it works though.

Perhaps you are confusing YouTube's ads with ads generated by the person posting the video.

If you are talking about a YouTube user like CBS or something that would make more sense.
