    Default My content copied

Hey so this is the first time this has happened to me, as far as I am aware so sorry if this is a dumb question lol.

A site has copied one of my articles word for word, but the thing is, they have included 3 links with keywords i am targeting. Now, the article has been indexed for me for around 2 months so I assume I shouldn't worry about it?

    Thanks for any comments

    Worried about it yes!

How many more will they copy in the future?

Name and shame, deal with em, do what you can to solve it.

I take it you know how to deal with it Alan?

No, thats why I have posted here.

This is the first time it has happened so I don't know what to do.

The thing is, it's not even an actual poker site, it is like a directory for a town or something with 'best restaurants' etc.. There are only a few poker articles on it as far as I'm aware.

I take it i should e-mail them to remove it?

btw - check your e-mail Chalkie

LOL, Sorry Alan i will be dealing with that this afternoon, sorry.

First step is to email them and ask then to remove it, give them a deadline too. Personally i would give them 5 business days, however, others may disagree. If this fails its time to contact their hosts.

Personally i would not be scared to mention the name of the site in private here just so we could all check for ourselves if they are nicking ours too!

PM me the url of the site

I see their game now, they are a local site for omaha nebraska and have been scraping articles containing the word omaha.

Shoot all barrels at them M8, tell em to either remove it or just carry an excerpt with a read more link. Then if they refuse to respond contact the hosts.

Typical example of cheeky bastards who think that by giving a link back to you that they are within their rights to nick your article.

Do you have some sort of tool to check content copying like that, or you find out by chance?

No I just found it completely randomly, makes you wonder about the rest of your content however.

If anyone knows of tools I'd love to hear them.
