Default Stars forcing me to change from CPA to REV

Hello, i have been working as an affiliate with PokerStars for the last 8 months.

After working hard, finally the last 3 months i have passed the 50 qualified players mark (150$ CPA)

today i did receive an email telling me that they are passing me from my CPA deal to REV SHARE and that this affects also my December players.

Is this normal? Can they force me to change to REV SHARE? (i gues they can, since we are the weak part), but still i dont think its normal that it comes to effect already for December when the tell me this on the 22th.

Is this something Pokerstars does with all the affiliates? or only with the ones that sends low quality players? i dont know how much my players are playing but i guess if they force me to change is because they are not happy with the numbers! i feel that they should tell the affiliates that this is a posibility and dont just do it when they feel like it.

The quality of your players are probably not that good, but they should still pay you CPA for December. I had this happen to me a party poker once, but it actually turned out to be much more lucrative in the end because these players generated a lot more money on 25% revenue share than I would've gotten from just the CPA. You can probably compromise with them and ask them for $100 cpa or something like that, including converting them to rev share.

Yeah they can and will do this. I would try make the best of it and try and negotiate a good revshare % - Stars Revshare is pretty good, but it does suck to lose out on the instant money.

I do think it sucks they are doing this retro on you though, sorry man

do you know if the majority of your players played the minimum amount of raked hands required for you to get the CPA and then stopped playing again? Did you offer some cash kick backs to these guys or something that wasn't approved by your AM? I'm just asking but these are reasons I would think you might get moved to rev retro-actively. (i'm not saying it is right or whatever, just opinion on why this might have happened).

If you are sending quality players, I suggest you send them a thank you/christmas card for this. PokerStars RevShare accounts are not easy to come by.

If your players suck, just be thankful they didn't close your affiliate account for suspected fraud and that they trust you with a RevShare account - and work on sending better players.

Email your case to them. They want to see clear and strong non-rakeback channels you can promote by. Remember the only reason its not open to everybody is the fear that people will give rakeback. So show them both that you can send a lot of non-rakeback business and that you wont be giving rakeback.

To the best of my knowledge it's impossible to give rakeback there as they don't supply individual player stats, so i don't know why they don't give rev share to everyone.
