Default Hotel choices for Toronto 2010

This is a general question to all affiliates on the forum .Would you rather attend an event at a cheaper hotel than the usually 4-5 star hotels that are $250+ a night? What would it take for you to justify spending that amount on a hotel?
Do you care about the view from a meeting room/?

How about affiliate managers?Would you star at a nice 3 star for $150 a night where the meeting rooms does not have a nice view and the menus are more budget conscious?Or would you rather pay higher prices for a big splashy impression?
We are down to the final 2 venues for our Toronto 2010 Event and the choices are $169+ tax per night vs $280+ a night for double rooms. The high end hotel has beautiful meeting rooms ,options for us but we don't want the price to affect the attendance.
Here are our choices The Grand Hotel & Suites Toronto --- Official Site
or http://www.fourseasons.com/toronto/.We plan to go with the majority vote on this one
Since we had a large attendance from Poker affiliates this year we plan to add something for you guys to the event.I have been 'interviewing' SEO speakers from SEMPO.ORG for our event and have a couple local people to speak to as well.Last year was err' Interesting" and I appreciate you all being so kind about it.

We are having many new affiliates coming this year so I am looking for a successful poker affiliate who still can remember the early days and waiting on that first paycheck. We are looking for a speaker who can give some inspiration to the new affiliates -this is a paid speaker position ,I have a couple people in mind but i am horrible putting forum names to real names lol.
If you attended last year and think you fall in that catagory please send me an email

I think the cheaper hotel would do fine... The 3 Stars in Toronto are usually quite nice.

Depends on location I guess, the four seasons is really nice but it's not really all the way downtown it's in the shopping district.

Judy I would say the cheaper option too,
At these conferences no one is ever in the room anyway, were always out and about.

Theres no point paying 400 a night for a hotel room where all you use it for is to crash for 6-7 hours and take a shower.

I do like the cheaper option, allows more ppl to come. and both locations are relativity close to all the major attractions and entertainment.

I would agree that the cheaper hotel would be better for everyone overall. Not sure what dates you are looking for but check out this hotel - the location is extremely central close to clubs, bars, restaurants, etc and the prices are cheaper than both hotels I think. It was just taken over and renovated, it`s very nice inside but not sure what their conference facilities are like.

+1 for the Hyatt... stayed there about a week ago and it was pretty nice and very reasonably priced, plus is in a prime location.

    Check this out for getting a cheap hotel;
Hotels Fast Compare - Confronta i prezzi degli alberghi dai siti Web migliori

I used it recently when booking accomodation and saved a fair bit as it compares againsta variety of sites similar to kayak.com.

Kayak's hotel comparison site is Hotels - Search Data from Hundreds of Sites for Hotel Rooms at KAYAK Hotels

When and what is this conference?
