I have worked with one of the AMs from Chili Poker in the past and had a really good experience (fast responses to emails and openness about things going on in their end). It were before he went to work with Chili Poker, so I can't speak for the program itself.

Edit: Forgot to mention his name is Chris

I also can vouch for ChiliPoker. Their AMs are fantastic and the room does extremely well for me on the French market.

I've never had a good experience with any room who sought me out. I've always done best with the ones I had to chase down (i.e. a better topic would be 'What are the best affiliate programs to promote').

This may be different if you are PokerNews or PokerListings but if you are a smaller affiliate and AM's are emailing you, that should tell you something about their desperation for customers - and thus how their poker room is likely to be doing and the risk you are running of them shutting down in the future, or being shady/late with payments.

Just my cynical 2 cents, ymmv - but there is a reason you don't see Full Tilt or PokerStars AM's emailing affiliates to signup...

I will politely disagree with this statement.

In the long run, any company must work to gain new business. Some choose to advertise offline, online, at conferences, etc, and some choose to contact website owners personally. Some choose to do both.

I think any good company that wants to be in business for the long run will always seek out new business. That holds true for large companies or small companies. Take a look at companies like McDonalds, Coke, Apple, and Microsoft. They are market leaders much like Full tilt and Stars, but they know that there is always value in continuing to market and gain new business and continue to market heavily and seek new customers.

    Kind Regards,
    Mark

You are not qualified to disagree, you are not an affiliate. Sorry to say it but you were actually on my mind when I made that post - though just one of many. After at least 50 emails over time, and finally agreeing to promote you - and having your links on my site for YEARS now - I have converted exactly 0 players to SunPoker, while converting hundreds or even thousands for other rooms, which I sought out myself...

Online poker is not like the fast food industry in the way you suggest. PokerStars will never seek out affiliates - because they know any affiliate worth his salt is going to contact them. Any affiliate who doesn't either has something against them or is small potato's, and they don't care about small potato's.

I agree with Mark on this... I promote relatively large rooms, and still go out looking for affiliates daily to bring in more business. I also know that not all rooms work on all sites - but this has nothing to do with who contacts whom in the first place.

Also, whether companies send emails, has nothing to do long run on payments delays and their long term health. We pay on time every time, and, as I said, I still work to bring in new business.

Mark is an affiliate, and certainly qualified to comment.

On topic, I was also impressed by the communication at ChiliPoker. I've only sent them a couple players, but they are in a very passive location for me and it's only been a month. For me there is way better ipoker options, but I'm happy to list them because they seem to be a good program.

Naturally affiliate programs who email people all the time are going to not agree with my statements - however I stand by them no matter how many small programs pop in to say they are false.
