Default PokerStars Guiness World Record Tournament Registration Closed!

There is now 35,040 registered players for this historic event, with close to a $150,000 overlay on the tournament as well.

Guesses on how long it will take to finish? Levels are 10 minutes each with 3,000 starting stacks and blinds beginning at 10/20

Kind of disappointing is that first place is a measly $30,000. I figured they'd have it at least around $50,000 for first minimum, out of the 500K prize pool. But it looks like they're paying out 8,750 places (top 25%) which is kind of lame.

I noticed this and thought that was weird. Since this morning it has dropped back down to 35K entrants where the cap is supposed to be.

There's going to be 105 million chips in play, should be a pretty crazy final table!

The final blind level is 20/40 million with a 5 million ante (hooray for luckfests!)

edit: Based on my calculations this tournament with 35K players will only take a little over 10 hours to complete (63 blind levels x 10 mins each = 630 minutes = 10.5 hours)

Based on chips in play I can't see it going beyond that timeframe.

nah, 10 hours is nothing in the grand scheme of poker events. Given the structure I don't see how it can go beyond that

Congrats on going so deep. I picked up pocket Aces early and doubled through a guy with Queens (all-in preflop, I busted him as well)

But my next pair of Aces got cracked by AK of clubs (87/13 favorite preflop, on the flop he picks up the flush draw, on the turn we're 80/20 and he spikes it on the river)

By the time the blinds hit 100/200 with an ante I was down to around 2400 chips. In the BB with AT of clubs. VERY active LP player raises again. I have enough chips to get some fold equity against a lot of hands in his range, so I make the shove.

He insta-calls with AQ of diamonds. Flop is ten-high but with two diamonds (it's never easy). Then the Q on the turn pretty much seals the deal and I'm sent packing. Ah well.
