    Default Forming an LLC

Hey everyone. I know we've discussed this before but I had a couple follow up questions. I'm not looking for "legal advice" just looking for your opinions or maybe a thread that discusses what you do.

My main question is in the naming of the LLC. I've read some tips that say you should just name it "Your Name LLC" so checks can be written to you. But it also seems like it might be of some benefit to name the LLC a little more discreetly not using your name/nickname anything. For instance, as the business grows there is potential to "sell" the entire business... "XYZ Services" would be more appealing to someone than "Knup Services"... Right???

Am I overthinking this? Is there any rhyme or reason to naming your business?

Also, I'm assuming when I create an LLC all forms of "making money online" can be included under this umbrella LLC. From my freelance writing adventures, to my design work, to my affiliate revenue, internet marketing money, etc... I don't have to go so far as to create separate businesses for each of my "business ventures" on the web do I?

Hope this made some sense and really look forward to your feedback. I have created an LLC before so I'm confident thats the road I'm going to take. Just trying to answer some questions about how it applies to the online/affiliate world.

    Thanks!
    Knup

If I could go back, I would give my company a name that is easy to spell and sounds professional. Possibly something that makes people assume that I bought the company from another person, or that I have at least 1 business partner.

Maybe something like "Knup & Smith LLC".

I think having a name like that could help a bit with the fact that a lot of people assuming that you are doing something shady when you tell them that you do "online marketing". A company that sounds like it is an accounting firm has to be legit

I can't help with the naming of the llc. I set up an llc last year and opted for a biz name like "Media Web Services, LLC" and haven't had any problems. I didn't really have a reason for doing this instead of my name though.

I would assume 1 business llc would cover all your business services. I use the one llc for all the different ways I make money online whether it's advertising, link sales or content writing. I don't think you'd want to create separate businesses for each of the different services you provide.

You can name your LLC whatever you want, and you can still get checks and in your name.

You can put everything under the same LLC if thats what you choose to do. I have done it for a a few years now. Same exact situation.
If you need Casino Reviews, I probably have the one(s) you're looking for.

Thanks for the input guys. Newjabber - love the logo. Hahaha... I think I'm past due to form a business with this stuff. I guess it hasn't hurt anything yet not doing it - but it's probably safer. Do all of you guys and gals incorporate?
