Question What FTP Client do you use?

In the past, I've used WS_FTP and SmartFTP, and I'm currently using FireFTP (Firefox Plugin) but I've been having some issues with files hanging and it doesn't have some of the automated features I'm looking for.

What do you use? What do you recommend?

Here are some of the features I'm looking for:

Automated Backups - I've been terribly guilty in the past of not backing up sites as often as I should. Ideallly, I'd like to have an automated FTP task which logs in and backs up all my sites locally on my harddrive.

Multi-Site Uploading For example, you have one local directory(on your desktop computer), that has all the current versions of Wordpress and the latest versions of the plugins you use and then you just simply press one button and all those files get uploaded to the sites you have previously selected.

Speed I hate waiting for larger files to upload and I'm looking for a client that is very quick and uploads large files fairly fast.

Filezilla was the 1st and only one I used and haven't had any problems with it. I don't do the things you are talking about though.

I would have thought you could do most of the things you are talking about through your server.

I do have my server setup for automatic daily backups but they get stored on my server, so if my hard drive on the server goes out, I'm basically screwed. I also pay for a SAN backup service which supposedly backs up all of my info. I need to test out some of these backups to see that they actually work the way they are supposed to so if there are any SAN/IBM Tivoli experts out there let me know and I'll put you to work for an hour or two.

I guess the larger my sites get, the more sites I add, the more paranoid I get of a catastrophic type loss and I would Ideally like my information backed up daily in a minimum of 3 places:

    1. My Server
    2. SAN Server
    3. My local Hard Drive

I'm probably paranoid but I think I'd want to jump off a bridge if all my sites data were lost.

SirTiner advised me to use FileZilla and I've never had any problems with it.

I find it fast and easy to navigate etc, does the job for me anyway
