When you look to monetize a poker website, you have three options:
Depending on the traffic, you can monetize through:
1. new player signups (rakeback or not),
2. promote an ebook, or;
3. promote poker training/software.
If your site attracts beginner players, then obviously the goal should be to get them to deposit onto an online poker room.
If your site attracts players who already have accounts on most of the popular poker rooms, then you would probably be better off trying to sell them an ebook/poker training/poker software to improve their game.
Im by no means saying this is the best strategy to monetize a poker website, this is just my understanding of the industry to date.
What I would like to know is if you have a website which attracts both beginner/intermediate players, what revenue stream should you be pushing the most on the site? ie. which one will make you the most money?
Please add to this thread with other advice you may have as well.
Cheers
