    Default My US traffic

So i have been thinking about what to do with my us traffic at sites where i dont offer anything for us players.
I though that a country redirect would solve it, but as someone mentioned in another post visitors are not visiting your site to be redirected, and i wouldent like to be redirected myself.
So instead i have made a site focusing 100% on a us site, and then added a us flag saying "players from usa click here" at the sites where there is no value for them.

    Flag example here:
    x

Do you notice it right away, and do you think that it is a good sollution?

Also I would appresiate feedback on the new site that im driving the traffic to.

    x

I will be adding some regular articles, but apart from that im thinking about focusing on gossip about the pros! Good or bad idea, or any other ideas for the site.

My plan is to keep the front page as it is, what do you think about that versus having the latest articles on the front page?

Site is messed up in Firefox 3.0.5. Image attached below.

As for noticing it yes I do(looking in IE), I think I'd give that a whole different little background though all around it just to make it stand out more, and make the "Players from USA click here" text a different colour from all other links on the site.

Cool idea to have US visitors click a link to another site. I agree redirects are a pain, i have been also considering what to do with all my us traffic.

I have about 60 percent from the USA and i have no USA sites. Well i have some on the way, i will see how it goes.

Nice new site by the way..

Argggg FFS, whats up with those different browsers, nothing but a pain in the ass. Tjecket my sites recently in IE and firefox but i guess i missed that one, or something else is messing it up. I guess that means its time for a new theme.

Maybe a black background with red text instead, i also think that the text can be a little bigger!

Nice new site by the way..
Thx, dident take long to get it going, but im happy with the theme and frontpage so far.

Based on current theme I think black background would stand out too much and look awkward - I'd go for a kind of yellow or something that stands out a bit but also blends in.

playthepros.net is also messed up in firefox - not as bad as the other but the top menu is covered and right menu has issues too.
If you're going to bet US Sports online - I strongly suggest 5Dimes.com or Bookmaker.eu.

Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to.

The theme at 3dpokerpower has been changed so it works in both browsers now.

I have changed the link colour and made the letters bigger, and im pretty happy with the result.

I think i will also make a front page for 3dpokerpower that is always showing, like i have done with playthepros.
Something that gives a nice short describtion about pkr´s best features and encourage players to signup.

I just changed a link title (made it shorter) at play the pros, and that sorted the problem there.

Newjabber, aside from the design issues, here are my thoughts on your US traffic problem...

I wouldn't try and get your US visitors to visit another site. The chances are that they go to that site looking for specific information, so they have no real reason to switch to a different site for what would seem like no particular reason. I know you want them at the other site because you push US rooms there, but unfortunately those visitors are not going to to bend over backwards for you to convert.

Instead, look into using some geotargetting on your "non-US" site. You can make it so that text links appear to US visitors only, and so you can use that to link to pages specifically for US visitors.

So, create a few pages aimed at converting those US visitors with US friendly poker rooms, and use geotargetting to make it so links to these pages only appear for those US visitors. You non-us traffic won't know the difference.

By doing it this way, you're not trying to force your visitors to move to another site, which I imagine they are unlikely to do. Have a think about what sort of pages you could create to get those US visitors to convert, and use geotargeting on that site to make it happen.

If you're interested in using geotargetting, I use MySimpleAds. It is very easy to work with and works like a charm.

I know playthepros.net is for US visitors only but why not put a disclaimer below the country flags that these are machine translations, professional translations coming soon. It won't take much of your time.
