Default What actions did you take against PokerStars?

Calling out all affiliate to step up against PokerStars!

OK, so we have all suffered badly from PokerStars new t/c for Qualified Players. The only thing we can do is step up, and if we all do it, they will notice!

I have listed them at the bottom of all my pages. They will no longer get any attention in promotion related blog posts and I am planning to remove them completely. The reason I haven't yet is that it involves quite a lot of work, as I have many PokerStars related pages.

What have you done against these jokers so far?

In case you're one of those affiliates that don't make a dime, why not play some free poker on my website PokerForFree.org. I am always on the hunt for new members, and if you contact me and mention PAL, I'll be more than happy to increase your initial bankroll a bit

Well, I'm actively shifting the focus of my Russian language sites away from Stars if that counts... not so much a reaction to the new CPA requirements (which did affect me for other geos), more the fact that their 'revenue share' is so low compared to other sites that it simply does not make any rational sense!

Having said that I'm not through with Stars just yet... and in fact asked for them to have a geo-targetted site-wide on one of my smaller sites just this morning... still a great brand and plenty of money there to be made IMO. (go on folks, flame away... I'm big and ugly enough to take it!!!)

    Cheers, Mark

I've been thinking about ideas to drop PokerStars, without directly hurting my business.

Before picking up my son, I had a marvelous idea. I was actually rushing back home after dropping him off at school again after lunch to get this thing started.

I will share everything later, either today or tomorrow, as I am not sure if I manage to get it up and running before hitting the gym later today.

Had a really busy week last week with the Super Bowl, but it is in capitals on my To Do list to remove them from all the high exposure I gave them on my sites.

Moved them from the #1 spot on my review site to the #2 spot behind FullTilt.

I personally don't promote PokerStars. If it takes them 2 weeks to answer my emails, I don't want their business.

PS: It's not only because of emails that I don't promote them, it's kind of a package deal that I won't get into here...

I'm leaving them alone for now but will be dropping their position on my strategy site. Not planning on promoting them on any new sites... it's just not worth the time. I can get more conversions at places that have better affiliate support and for which the market isn't as saturated.
Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.

I hardly promote them anyways, but I never promoted FT much either - now FT is getting all the business I was previously giving stars.

They don't care though, even if a lot of bigger PAL affiliates drop them. In their eyes those players will end up at Stars someday, someway, anyways.

Well I would like to promote PokerStars, but they are the only room that do not allow you to access your tracker instantly. I applied for their affiliate program one week ago and did not get an answer yet (besides confirming my application).
Anyway, they are the biggest poker room, and they had they were even able to increase their market share in the last 4 months...
