Was thinking of changing some sites over to there own dedicated ip instead of shared hosting.
Anyone know if this will affect rankings in any way? Meaning changing the ip?

No impact on rankings, except possibly with Ask. They permanently ban IP addresses but the chances of getting one of those permanently banned IPs are pretty small, in my opinion. And my information on their banning practices may be outdated. I haven't heard anyone complain about an Ask ban in years.
And do you even care about Ask in your niche anyway?![]()

Are you guys asking if a dedicated IP address helps with SEO? Absolutely not. I only pursue dedicated IP addresses if I think I'm going to send email from a domain. Many shared IP addresses can be blocked by email blacklists because the anti-spam tools are very primitive (and relatively ineffective).

Michael, we mean if you have 10 sites on 10 completely different IPs as opposed to 10 sites hosted using a shared hosting package, when you interlink your sites, will there be more of a benefit SEO wise.

Also Michael, I mean if your is the only site on the IP. Currently using shared hosting so my site is on the same ip as other sites, most of which belong to other people. So if i go the dedicated way and have only one site on that ip wouldnt it look better?

Okay, I think I understand what you're asking.
Here are the IP-and-Linking rules of thumb, per my experience:
- Search engines don't care about whether your sites are all on one IP address
- Search engines don't care about whether your sites link to each other
- If your sites ONLY link to each other, search engines may become a little suspicious, especially if you operate dozens, hundreds, or thousands of Websites
I always recommend to people that they link out to more sites they don't control or benefit from than sites they do control or benefit from.
I have occasionally been asked how many more. There is no one right answer, so far as I can tell. But I believe that linking out to 10 unrelated sites for every 1 related site you link to is probably better than linking out to 5 unrelated sites for every 1 related site you link to, which is better than linking out to 1 unrelated site for every 1 related site you link to, etc.
