Did you check which country .sc is? No worries, I did a little research. The country is Seychelles. Im not sure if they play poker there or not. It's only one way to find out.

AFAIK Seychelles is good for hosting bank accounts for some reason, and because it's an absolute paradise (click). As far as domains go, I would not invest my time in it. The sites I've seen from there seemed to be coded and designed on a commodore 64 and then uploaded on a 14k4 modem

.sc's can rank just like most other extentions but if it's going to be a long term site then I wouldnt bother as people will find it hard to remember compared to an org net or com.
A while back whois.sc used to rank very well in google for 'whois' searches which I imagine gets quite a few searchs a month. This was before they changed their name to domaintools.com
Sure, it can rank for "online poker". It's not going to be penalized for having a .sc tld.
