Podcast for idiots

We start a podcast very soon.
I have a few questions for webmasters already doing it:

1) Do you host it on your own server? What tools do you use so you can see the number of downloads? What tools you use for streaming also?
How you make the RSS feed?

2) Is it better to host it on a site like Podblaze or Podomatic? Less work but you spend some $. Do they provide some codes so you can integrate everything on your domain? (and not subdomain on theirs).

3) Anything else I should know. I am reading documentation but first one is launching tomorrow already so...
Ah, btw, it wont be live so I dont need blogtalkradio.

4) Any facebook app also?

I too am looking into this. I know how to produce them, but the distribution is in question.

@tiburon I use garageband or screenflow on my mac because mine will be video based. If you are making "enhanced" podcasts, then use your regular video production process but when exporting use the iPhone option from Camtasia.
