Default Using different colors for conversions

I was reading some blog posts today and looking at different 'order now' and 'download now' type buttons. I'm trying to see what size, font etc works the best. In the process I ran across this post on colors and how they effect what people see first and click on. Pretty good read on choosing the right 'calls to action' based on what you're saying and where on the site it is.

I think a lot of this depends on the colour scheme of the site, the type of the business, audience etc. There are a lot of different factors that go into creating the “right” CTA. If any of you would like to give me a few details, I would love to give my opinion

Great thread, nice posts guys, enjoyed it.

I doubt the article will help much with limited traffic (i.e. changing my CTA's to orange lol), but I'm sure if you're getting loads of traffic over the long-term these things will start to make a difference.

question of priorities really. improve CTA optimsiation, or seo/content/articles/editing/adding new sites.

What is with the "orange lol" comments?

I've seen a bucket load of these gold/orange gradient buttons on affiliate sites who seem to know what they're doing.

I won't paste it here but there is a certain "Play Now" button like that is probably the most ripped off button I've ever seen.

I use red alot for calls to action or stuff i want to stand out to make the user click. Im not sure if its good or bad but instinctively i think its good.

Thoughts? Obv depends on color scheme, red doesnt go so great on some bg colors.

That's true. I'm sure there's a reason why a giant like Amazon uses orange buttons with navy text. Same thing with the Belcher Button. Video is worth watching.

Not exactly sure how these ideas translate from people buying "make money online" ebooks, acai berries or whatever to poker players looking to sign up to a new room though, but orange buttons with navy have been tested.
