I have run many freerolls and use to experience this. The best way to stop the freeroll whores would be to postpone this tourney.

Open up a thread for those who want to play it.

All members who want to play post in the thread

Set some criteria so they freeroll whores don't simply sign up to play.

Send the list of players to Betfair so they can issue a ticket so ONLY players on the list can play.

EXACTLY. Thats the only way to do it, or get betfair to manually add the players.

Nice letter Jeremy. I know how you feel.

I run freerolls for my forum members. At first I set it up so people only needed to sign up to the forum, register an interest in playing, and I'd then PM them the password. Despite the simple requirements to join the game, I found the password being posted on freeroll forums.

Now I just have freerolls for valued members only, because freeroll whores cannot be trusted. I asked Full Tilt if we could submit a list of eligible players, which is possible. But this is unworkable because if they don't turn up, they are on the table sitting out. Not good for the game.

So now I am very careful with the password. It's limited to a small group of trusted members. New members need to build a level of trust before joining us for the freerolls. They all know if the password gets leaked, the freerolls might stop. We've had a few freerolls now, with no problems. Not one single uninvited guest.

It's still not smooth sailing though. There's a freeroll mafia out there. I have to close down the forum for about an hour before our freerolls, simply because people come and post trash all over the forum, trying to get their post count up and asking for the password. They don't read the rules and it's easier just to shut things down temporarily. It's only a small freeroll too.

I think the online rooms could be a bit more accomodating and come up with better systems, such as allowing affiliates to submit a list of players, who also need to use a password.

    Well done Jeremy.

The best way to stop this is to also make sure none of these guys get any commissions We arent there, but lets make sure all programs are on board to close the guy's account.
