Default Lists, and what the hell are you doing with yours?

I sooooo know I am not taking advantage of my list potential, but maybe I am not sure how either. I am hoping to get some quality feedback and an exchange of ideas here about how you manage your LISTS.

    Questions about YOUR lists:

1- How do you get your LIST?

2- How big is your LIST(S)?

3- How do you market to them after your initial auto-responder series is over?

4- Do you JV with other LIST owners who have non-competing offers?

My answers to this are 1-Free video tutorials. 2- Over 20,000 unique (from combined LISTS). 3- Haven't found much to sell really, at least that I could honestly recommend. 4- No, cause I really don't know how to do it, but have read about it elsewhere.

I feel quite out of the loop in some respects about the poker market in general, as I have never really had any success in getting sign-up referrals to poker sites.

1- How do you get your LIST?
My websites just saying subscribe to newsletter and one offering tips on how to beat sit n gos.

2- How big is your LIST(S)?
Still pretty new so a little under 200

3- How do you market to them after your initial auto-responder series is over?
To my poker community I promote the OFC events, my poker blog, and rakeback site.

4- Do you JV with other LIST owners who have non-competing offers?
No, my list isn't big enough to do this and most likely I wouldn't do this in the poker niche. (Personal choice)

    1) I use mine FAR more than I use my website. In reality, I look at my websites as nothing more than a vehicle to my lists.

    2) I've to ~80,000 opt in members.

    3) Why on earth would your auto-responders EVER run out? Think of an auto responder as getting the person to visit your site again. If you can't come up with something new, simply cycle them to the start of the auto-responder sequence again. You'd be amazed how often really old subscribers finally see something which catches their attention. Granted, I've got like 200+ messages in my auto-responder queue, so by the time they get back to the start, it's not like it's some message I sent them three weeks ago.

    4) I haven't, and doubt I would.

Another note, and this is important if we're going to discuss email marketing, is the frequency with which you send messages. I find 2 a week is fine. More than that, and your usubscribe rate starts going up (and it goes up exponentially as you hit 3, 4, 5 a week)

Why? Because I don't know what I am doing exactly. 200 auto responders Yilkes!! I would love to learn your content strategies for sending out that many. Great job!

I'm ok at the collecting part... but to be honest not so strong after they subscribe - for some reason I take is as a personal insult when someone marks me as 'spam' and tend to overcompensate by being overly cautious! Anyway, those questions:

1- How do you get your LIST?

Got a couple of eBooks I give away, aimed squarely at my 'first 6 months' demographic, they have adverts / CTAs for rooms inside and are branded just enough to get their own daily searches (edited out), "(edited out!) etc... also now have translated versions too and are building separate lists in other languages.

2- How big is your LIST(S)?

Not as big as the MooreFish's! 5 figures already though and growing at a comfortable 30+ a day.

3- How do you market to them after your initial auto-responder series is over?

This is where I get the "D- could do better" on my homework... a monthly newsletter is all I manage... it is generally well received, gets me e-mail feedback and a nice spike in visits... yet I realize the balance between being polite and marketing more effectively is swayed too much in the polite area - going to really push the boat out one day soon and do 2 a month!

4- Do you JV with other LIST owners who have non-competing offers?

Not really something I've considered, maybe if a training site were to offer me an exclusive video or something like that.... can not see how this would work to be honest, though open to ideas.

Definitely interested in other's perspectives... saw one from an experienced affiliate the other day in which a short and friendly confirmation e-mail said something like "you are now subscribed, in the meantime why not check out the latest poker bonus codes at ***link****"" now that is something I need to get better at!

    Cheers, Mark

1-signups, acquisition of websites, forum members, newsletter subscribers etc
    2-xxx,xxx
    3-i don't.......
4-started to once but never completed it.

my biggest problem is managing the damn thing. it is expensive to have a commercial program hold that many email addresses and i don't think i'd turn a profit on paying $1,000+ a month to be able to email these people - or maybe i would but i'm not really willing to try without something awesome to email them with.

i consider my list a huge asset but i have no idea how to go about monetizing it really.

Um....I'm at a loss for words. If your list is all opt in, and not purchased, and you want to JV something, send me a PM. We'll be able to turn a xxx,xxx sixed opt in list into $50K+ a month in no time.

I don't get it either. What changed? And what kind of co-op deal are you thinking now? I am in the same boat, albeit with a smaller list but all double opt-ins.

wow those are some nice lists you guys are sporting... email / list marketing is something we've not done well at all. We've got lower five figures in various different lists... from players in our live poker league to people who sign up for more info and or purchase our digital products or sign up to use our poker leaderboard software...

for the digital products they get a handful of auto responders and then we run specials a few times a year and sell a bunch at a discount...

We email our live league list once per week about live league updates... don't really email our other lists hardly at all after the initial auto-responder series completes.

Anyone know of any good blogs about list monetization or know of any really good consultants who will put together a plan for your lists?

Default Re: Lists, and what the hell are you doing with yours?

How could you not profit from a 6 figure list with a $1k cost?!!

If you have an opt in list that big and your not doing anything with it, you must hate money.
If you need Casino Reviews, I probably have the one(s) you're looking for.
