Default Ideas to promote online poker on live tournamets

    Hi all,
We are organizing monthly live tournaments and beside of the fees and the hosting restaurant paying to organize the event we would like to promote an online poker room and try to get sign-ups.

We've tryed flyers with bonuscodes, a website for the events, and a freeroll but with no big success.

What can we do that could bring some players?

Start a league (keep points - live tourneys first)
Create a private buy-in online game - make it's points count towards your league.
Invite your live players to the online game.
Give them a CD that you created that shows them how to get signed up and find your game. Use your aff links obviously. Give them the password, invite them to play from the comfort of their own home.

Hype the fun of it, participate yourself.

Promote the only Home Based Poker Dealing School on the net via Clickbank with these banners.
Poker Leaderboard - manage & display points standings easily on your website.

What about Wall Posters with bonuscodes?
Which Content is needed at the tournament website?

It is generally difficult nowadays to get people offline onto your relevant website.

    1. Definitely get a sponsor if possible - branded cards etc are always helpful.
    2. Grab all players' email addresses so that you can invite them personally. Perhaps include a summary of the event so that people are indeed interested in the email itself. Players love reading about themselves!
    3. It is often hard to invite everyone and get a great response. Not sure how many players you get, and it is only a monthly event, but perhaps organise a private freeroll for the top 16 players only - people will feel privileged being invited and make the effort to play.
    4. As Spry said, create a league where they get points both offline and online, and offer prizes for the winners. Gets people back to your offline games and gives them reasons to come online....

A few more thoughts for you there

This was my business model for when i started and didnt know SEO.

It can be pretty hard work to be honest, but i got a good healty pool of players by doing the same thing.

    Here is what i done;-

I got 1 event double money prize pool £20 + 2 buy in on the night. With the poker room at the time was blackpool club poker. they would match the other £20 but paid into there online account. They could only be in for the extra if they had deposied at blackpool club poker.
So what i done at my local poker night, i advertised a free roll with added money (all provided by BCP) i think £200. I also had 2-3 bountys one being on my head, one being on the orgainse of the local event (get him involded). Then the following week same time same day. I would do a buy in event with added money. I done 2 or 3 of these so people would have time to deposit for the big DOUBLE your money tournament. I had flyers done of the tournament series details.

    Good luck
