Default Discussing Online Gambling Legality on a site

What precautions should you take with an "is online gambling illegal" page on your site.

Is it even a good idea to have one on your site? If so, what can you get away with saying, given that an interesting read would contain personal opinions / ideas. in addition to some good external links.

While your at it, if some members want to throw out some links to some of the best sites to include external links to for USA and other country gambling law info, go for it!.

I think you have to be very careful about these kinds of pages. Here's an example page that I personally like (content wise...): Online Poker Legal? - Internet Gambling Law and Poker Online

First, the author states that this he is not an expert, and he doesn't have the actually answer to "is poker legal". He then goes own about providing some information which he was able to gather. I think it would be best if he added links to the source of his quotes.

More importantly, he concludes by stating "draw your own conclusions", because at this point, that's pretty much all one can do. The question is simple, but the answer isn't clear cut yet. Everyone is still waiting to see how the legal system will interpret law, and set precedents. That is really the key.

The other question you should consider is what effect would such a page have on your visitors? Are you going to use it to entice confidence and improve poker sign ups? Could it have the opposite effect? Maybe you'll just scare an "undecide". I really don't know. Just throwing the questions out there. What is the ultimate purpose of the page?

I would definately stick a clearly visible disclaimer on any page like that.
