Do people searching for promotions already have accounts?

Say you're promoting a casino or poker site and you're getting traffic for stuff like poker sites promo code or poker site promotions. Do these people already have accounts at said poker site or are they looking for a deal before they sign up?

I guess it's a bit or a mix and terms like that do convert quite well but maybe not as well as terms like poker site bonus code or casino refferal code.

Any input appreciated.

I would say it is a little of both, a lot of the new players are searching for a code to the best bonus possible. Some players that are reloading will also search for codes for their deposits after already having an account made.

From my experience with players, 99% of people who search keywords that you mentioned already have that specific room downloaded, and are creating account. At this point, it is better to promote rooms that track you by promo code - doesn't matter where the player downloaded the room, he is yours if he entered your promo code

The remaining 1% are those intelligent players, who, if decided to play at specific room, search for offers there before downloading. They do that because they are aware of different offers at different sites. Yet another question I have with these, is - are they serious players that will be playing at that room regularly, or they need it for rare occasions, like monthly freeroll or other sh**

All this said, keep in mind that my experience is only about a year and all my players are local in one little European country
