The stocks are down a lot, when is the right time to buy?

Just as they hit rock bottom is the perfect time to buy. Then sell again when they peak.

Crazy times in the precious metals markets as well... gold as i type this up $27 today after ending up like $60 yesterday.... sitting a $1744... while silver is down a buck to just under $38.. ratio of 45/1 - looking like might be time to trade some gold for silver.

Got hurt past few days, And i knew something like this was coming, just kept putting off logging into etrade to dump everything.. Next tim i have a feeling have to be sure i go with it.

Mackan is right IMHO. The only reason the markets are squirming is because of CNN. The big institutions and market movers learned nothing new this week, they dont change their portfolios and strategies based upon S&P credit ratings. Now is a great time to buy. Unless you own gold, now is a great time to sell. Don't listen to anyone who says buy gold when it is at an all-time high. If it was expected to continue rising, the future price would already be incorporated into today's price - called market efficiency.

If you guys are looking for a good long term winner, then check out FLO - I was the legal affairs director for years. I own a lot of their stock and in the last 5 years it has split 3 times. I will post more later, not that I no longer work there I can talk more about it. Its just a consistent winner though.

Also check out a company called rentech - Now sure their stock symbol. But good things happening - They are in the fuels market

OH and for quick research FLO = Flowers Foods - They own Nature's own, sunbeam, etc. Before I left they bought "Tasty kakes"
