I certainly don't claim our idea with PokerNations is anything ground-breaking on the scene. There have been numerous attempts over the past few years to build social networks for poker fans.
And while some have done ok, most have flopped. And the ones that did alright as far as traffic/membership numbers go, still managed to attract a much larger selection of low-value players, freeroll hunters, etc.
The vast majority of our competition operate as affiliates and push other peoples brands and focus their revenue generation efforts in the online poker market.
Our approach is different, as we aren't operating as an affiliate, and welcome the rakeback providers, regular affiliates, gambling periodicals, land-based casinos, online gambling (sportsbook, bingo, poker and casino), nightlife & entertainment, poker pros, etc. onto our network.
We feature 25+ industry-specific profile categories. So unlike Myspace, you won't find a casino with a sex, age or smoking preference.
We've only been out of beta about one week, so we certainly have a lot more growing to do, and many more features to add as we expand our network and offerings.![]()

PTC Chiming in. I've found the traffic to be pretty valuable. I ran a brief ad campaign there that pointed to a landing page on an affiliate site that was far from optimized, and just used a 2 minute banner that i threw together from an old header image. It was still a profitable endeavor according to the numbers and I'm sure I could do much better as well. Was actually the first time I have paid anyone for any kind of advertising, so I was pleased.
Ill also ad that it was super easy to run the campaign, no exchanging emails and messing around, its all in the member backend with many options. Anthony seems to be around there all the time too to discuss anything.

Just an update that we've been open "officially" since around Sep 7th (i.e. a little over 1 and a half months) and we now have over 600 members on the network, including a number of poker professionals who've used our blogging feature and interacted with our members in the forum.
In Sep we saw over 4K uniques and over 1 million page views. This month as of right now we've seen 3,961 uniques and we still have two weeks left in the month, so it's coming along very nicely.
We're also working with some providers that wish to put up giveaways comparable to our 2010 PokerNations Vegas Experience package, so we expect to have some amazing promotions to further drive visitors to the network and convert them into active members.
At this time we have the capability to accept an additional investing partner into the company. This partner can be silent, or have a sweat equity involvement in addition to financial investment.
Preferably a partner providing sweat equity would be versed in Sales & Marketing in the online media market.
Please contact me via PM to discuss further.

I would definitely be interested in this project. I may be new to the forums, but I am nowhere near new to startups. Even if I can't get in with this project I wish you the best of luck.
