    Default I'm new here - does offline affiliating convert?

    hello Everyone

    I am new here and also new to the affiliating world.

    From what I have read so far, 99% of the advice and threads revolve around online affiliating.

    I pressume that this is prbably because it is the best way to promote a site, however, I am not very good at SEO or building websites and I know that it is a very competitive areas to crack and make work. Given the competition, I wonder why not much is being discussed about offline affiliating.

    does anyone have any experience with offline affiliating for poker rooms? if so what do you recommend, that will stand the best chance of working best.

    will it prove to be a waste of my time focusing my efforts offline?

    thank you all in advance and I look forward to a productive discussion.

    Well, you are correct that offline affiliating is not often covered here... seem to recall there was a big thread on this at one point, might have been at a previous forum frequented by this community.

    Offline affiliating is a potentially wide area - maybe if you were more specific with how you intend to go about this some people here could comment / advise.

    I'm also interested in promoting offline, I know bingo is huge over here in the uk.

    Do bingo AM's give out your own personal code for offline marketing. Like you can for poker? I believe you could get a few potential sign ups with bingo offline rather than poker.

    Do flyers work? I was thinking a flyer saying somthing like bingo mania, maybe two or 3 offers with codes maybe?

    you get codes, but most rooms will only give it to the bigger affiliates.
    I proberly promote 30+ bingo rooms and i have codes for 2 or 3 at best.

    where poker i can have a code for every room if i wanted..

    hope that helps

    I have had a decent amount of success promoting offline for somepoker rooms.
    Things like poker league and tournaments etc, pub advertising and university flyers wih special deals can all provide some real money players for your affiliate account... :P

    Imo it is worth giving a try, targeting land casinos for online casinos, bingo halls for bingo, live poker games for poker, a lot of rooms will also give you merchandise for these purposes, eg poker t shirts for players to wear in league pub games

    thank you all for your replies....

    there are some good ideas here which could be added to the mix. generally speaking i like to observe what the majority are doing and then do the opposite. not to say that the advice I have found here does not work. (heck, there will very likely be a subset of affiliates making good returns on their online initiatives). My main point is that due to my level of skill and experience, my chances of success, let alone competing online finding a niche and doing SEO is very unlikely. everyone seems to be attempting to do it. my idea is, that I may be more successfull and find a lot less competion, offline.

    not everything will be offline but,

    this is my plan;

    buy a domain name and build a very simple yet attractive landing page, which outlines the features and benefits of the poker room I am promoting, along with a call for action. (obviously, it will link to the main site with my affiliate ID)

    drive traffic to the landing page, or to the main site by;

    >printing a t-shirt I could wear, advertising the URL

    >handing out business cards, putting them at eye level in the urinals of pubs, handing them out at nightspots, through doors etc.

    >go viral, hand out gifts, such as lighters and pens, etc....with the URL printed on them, even writing the site address on the bank notes i spend has been considered

    >youtube, make lots of videos in catagories which the viewers would also be very likely, to be interested in playing poker....like extreme sports, anything funny. how to play poker tutorials, workout programs, how to build bongs, review some gadgets....etc......maybe something funny that has the potential to go viral iteself. only limited to my creativity. ( i currently have a video uploaded of me skydiving, at the moment it gets 10 views a week, over time and with more videos, my impressions will only increase)

    >possibly take an advert out in a local paper, or sponsor something? what exactly.......

    these are just my initial thought, i suppose I would not know if I am wasting my time until I try it.

    thanks all for you ideas, i will be using some of them.

    your thoughts and opinions on my plan are more than welcome. feel free to use anything from it.

    this is excellent, just dont get caught?

    another idea, do some guerilla marketing......make up a stencil and pressure wash the dirt off the floor leaving behind the impression of your chosen message......again dont get caught, but what can you get done for exactly!!!

    the possibilities of where you can do this are endless.....maybe a busy high street very early one morning
