    Default New Q&A Forum

As many of you know, PAL is going to be a public forum shortly. With that I would like to utilize this forum as a place for affiliates to ask questions and get answers.

This is very similar to yahoo answers. I suppose we'll give it a try and see how things go.

So to start, the first question is, Is there ever a time you should fold AA before the flop and why? <------ This is just a test question, have fun.

There are certain times where folding AA can actually yield profit. It's extremely rare and in most cases deals with the super end game of a satellite. Say there is a satellite into a big event and the top 2 people get entry. If there are 3 people left with the chip counts like such

    Player 1 - 10000
    You - 8000
    Player 3 - 500

If the blinds are big enough you want to just fold the AA if player 1 shoves. By folding you are more than a 85% favorite to get a entry by just letting Player 3 blind out.

If you've managed to win enough money in the last couple of high stakes games, and you are now playing a micro stake game.

It depends what your objective is. As trikkur pointed out in the example, when there' only rewards for the top two finishes that is a perfect example where you could fold, asumming the person with the bigger stack went all in. Other than that, you should always play your AA.

Actually, there is one other instance where you should fold them, and that's when your against Phil Helmuth on AP or UB! lol
